ABOUT MOJI AINA
MOJI AINA has always had a passion for sweet things, and as a result, decided to have chocolates at her wedding. Unfortunately, there were no chocolate makers in Nigeria.
She took some vacation time from work and spent 5 days learning how to make chocolates, this was the beginning of her love affair with chocolate.
In 2017, she started her Nigerian Bean-to-Bar chocolate company, Pod Chocolates, one of the first in the country. They are chocolate makers transforming locally sourced cocoa beans into silky smooth chocolates made without preservatives. They focus on product innovation, infusing locally recognized flavours like creating the first ever Zobo (Hibiscus) Chocolate, Plantain Firecracker and their bestseller Jollof Chocolate (includes puffed rice, dry ground pepper, ripe plantain chips, kilishi and chocolate of course!) in Nigeria.
Every chocolate pack tells a unique story of Nigeria's history and educates consumers about it's cultural and hidden treasures. She has always viewed chocolates from a tourist perspective, highlighting the many economic benefits to be gained by the tourist sector if we are able to put Nigeria on the world chocolate map.
